Gifted Programs:
Lake Park School District is committed to an educational program that recognizes the value, needs and talents of the individual student. The program for gifted students is an integral part of this commitment. This program is designed to challenge the gifted student through a multidimensional teaching approach involving special curricula, enrichment, and the acceleration of course content. The ultimate goal of the program is to develop within the students a desire for excellence and a sense of individual responsibility to the Lake Park community and to a changing society.

Athletic Programs:
Welcome to the Lake Park Interscholastic Athletic Program. The district sponsors athletic experiences in 13 sport programs, with most being separate 7th - 12th grade teams and a few coed, mixed grade levels. Research proves that students involved in extracurricular activity perform better in the classroom and have far less discipline incidents. Our Lake Park coaches do an outstanding job developing character in these young boys and girls as well as teaching them the basics of the sport. The athletic programs at Lake Park will always strive to make the athletic experience a positive one for our student-athlete and community. Please join us this year in promoting positive sportsmanship at all athletic events.

Visual/Performing Arts Programs:
In the Lake Park community of schools, we know that school success requires broad-based learning and memory. As a result, we strive to provide visual and performing arts across the grade levels and deliver curriculum based on standards because we know from research they aid in the understanding and transfer of knowledge and spatial learning. The arts play a significant role in the learning process.
A recent College Board Seniors National Report indicates music students with four years of music study scored an average of forty-seven points higher on the math portion of the SAT, sixty-six points higher on the critical reading section and sixty-seven points higher in writing. The same report indicates students taking AP Honors Fine Arts Classes scored seventy-eight points higher than those with no fine arts classes on the writing portion of the SAT.
Please join us as we encourage our students to engage in both the performing and visual arts to develop a broad-based approach to learning and develop important life skills.
